Leaders and managers of several private hospitals convened last March 13, 1979 and decided to form an association of private hospitals that would be national in scope and that will properly address the problems of the hospital industry.  Thus, the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PHAP) was born.
 
PHAP is a non-stock, non-profit association, which seeks to enhance the quality of hospital services for the benefit of its patients & clients and to advance the wellbeing of private hospitals. It conducts three (3) regional management seminars (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao) annually wherein essential and relevant topics in hospital management are presented and discussed with the participants representing the hospitals in these regions. A national convention is held towards the end of the year, wherein representatives from private hospitals located all over the country converge to gain new learnings & information, network and exchange ideas.

HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT ASIA 2009 BREAKS THE RECORD!

Hospital Management Asia 2009, which was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam last August, was attended by 722 delegates from 18 countries, the most number of participants in the 8-year history of the Conference. Of this number, about half or 366 were delegates from Vietnam with the remainder coming from various countries in Asia. The Philippine delegates ranked second in terms of number of participants with 140 participants, trailing only the host country.
